Tie Guan Yin – The Iron Goddess of Mercy
From the misty mountains of Anxi County, Fujian Province, Tie Guan Yin (铁观音) is one of China's Ten Famous Teas and the undisputed king of Anxi oolongs. Legend tells of a tea farmer named Wei Yin who, after ten years of devotion to Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, was led in a dream to a remarkable tea plant beside a mountain stream. The resulting brew carried an extraordinary orchid fragrance and a sweetness that lingered for hours. Today, the best Tie Guan Yin still grows at 500–1,600 meters in Anxi's mineral-rich red soil, where cool nights and warm days coax out the tea's signature floral complexity.
Tasting Notes
- Aroma: Fresh orchid and gardenia blossoms, with hints of cream and tropical fruit
- Flavor: Silky and smooth — layers of custard, Asian pear, and honeyed florals unfold with each steep
- Liquor: Bright golden-green, clear and luminous
- Finish: Sweet and lingering (回甘, hui gan) — the hallmark of great Tie Guan Yin
What Makes This Tea Special

- Multiple Infusions — Tightly rolled leaves unfurl slowly, delivering 7–10+ steeps with evolving flavors
- Five Grades Available — From everyday drinking to supreme selection, every level is founder-selected for quality
